Sharendipity in a nutshell

Unknowingly I’m sure, David Pogue has done a great job of describing the very basic problem we are solving. That is, software engineers aren’t always the best candidates for designing software. In fact, the entire process for spec’ing, designing, implementing, and selling software often breaks down.

Sure, engineers can implement ideas with grace and ease using skills that may have taken years to master. But as David points out, why is it that so much software is painfully wrong either in its presentation or feature set?

We’re trying to solve this problem by democratizing the tools of software creation. We won’t necessarily fix the Delta kiosk or taxi cab billing examples described by David. But we will provide you with the ability to collaborate and create niche software that meets your specification. With Sharendipity, you’re in control of your ideas, and through the support of the community can begin to build software without the need to program.

You don’t like the way Facebook displays statuses for your network? Go make your own! Do you have your own ideas for how the popular Boomshine game should be made? Go make your own!

Thank you, David!
